Valor Christian junior Cole Sprout became the first Colorado male athlete in the 12-year meet history to win the boys sweepstakes race at the Desert Twilight Festival in Casa Grande, Ariz. Sprout ran the fastest time ever on the 5-kilometer course at Grande Sports World Complex, clocking 14:32.9 after placing second last year in 14:48.6.
