Valor Christian junior Cole Sprout won the boys 5A title at the Colorado High School Activities Association state final, setting the all-time state meet record by covering the 5-kilometer course at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs in 15:16.1, eclipsing the 2015 mark of 15:33.7 set by former Lyons standout Paul Roberts, as well as the 15:33.4 run by Mason Norman of The Classical Academy in the 3A final earlier in the meet.
