Valor Christian sophomore Taylor Whitfield placed second in the girls 5A final at the Colorado High School Activities Association state meet at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Whitfield covered the 5-kilometer course in 18:25.4 for Valor Christian, which placed ninth overall as a team with 272 points.
