[Men's Cross Country] Men's Cross Country finishes 18th at National Meet

The men's cross country team ended their season competing at the NAIA National Championship Meet hosted in Tallahassee, Florida on Friday, November 18. Out of the 318 total finishers, Aiden Kammler (JR/Portsmouth, Ohio) and Cody Booth (SR) started the Bears off strong with 12th and 15th place finishes, respectively. Aiden Kammler covered the 8km course in a time of 24:28.2, which also set a new school record for the 8km. Cody Booth ran the course in a time of 24:32.4, tying the previous school record. Following the duo, Alex Morris (SO/Wheelersburg, Ohio) (175th, 26:07.4), Logan Boggs (JR/Ironton, Ohio) (189th, 26:18.2), Mason Blizzard (SO/South Webster, Ohio) (245th, 26:51.2), and Landen Smith (SO/McDermott, Ohio) (291st, 27:46.0) rounded it out for the Bears. Out of 34 teams, the Bears finished 18th overall. Aiden Kammler and Cody Booth both received their 2nd All- American honors (Cody's first while competing for SSU). Shawnee State had 4 athletes that were named as Daktronics NAIA Cross Country Scholar-Athletes: Logan Boggs, Aiden Kammler, Alex Morris, and Malachi Shugert (SO/Rossford, Ohio). To be named a Daktronics Scholar-Athlete, the student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average at their institution.
