The women's cross country program at Shawnee State was again marked as the top team from within its own conference by national voters as SSU claimed 95 points to take the first slot in the receiving votes portion of the 2020 Women's Cross Country NAIA Preseason Poll, which was released Thursday morning by NAIA officials.

Despite being outside of the poll, Shawnee State trails No. 25 Columbia (Mo.) by just 14 points and No. 24 Friends (Kan.) by 16 in the initial rankings.
