[Men's Cross Country] Phillips wins Patty Forgey Invitational; men dominate proceedingsPublished by
Shawnee State sophomore and 2019 Mid-South Conference Freshman of Year Jonah Phillips got his sophomore season off to a roaring start by winning the Patty Forgey Invitational, 12 individuals associated with the SSU men's cross country program finished inside the top-20 overall, and the men cruised to a overall victory in its first meet of the 2020-21 season by scoring a meet-low 31 points in Rio Grande Saturday afternoon. Phillips, who ran a 26:44.6 en route to winning the meet, was one of only two runners in the 62-person field to put up a time of under 27 minutes in the PFI Men's 8K Run.
